Hah! Someone asked me to keep a travel journal when I went to Island 8. I did, and everyone was appalled when, as it appeared to them, a "person roleplaying someone from the future" had written pages and pages of text in such a short time. Obviously I've thought of ways to exploit this (complete a better term paper, deliver it, pass class I would have failed) but as the changes never catch up to the present I'd never benefit from them. The comparisons are inevitable but the reality was nothing like any film. You would not even know you had caught it until you saw or smelled someone who didn't have it. Polar bears are indeed extinct to the best of our knowledge except for those in zoos. Lots of new species actually as a result of rapid heating and cohab living; Cities have largely been abandoned and grown over. Much of what used to be tundra is now temperate forest. Newp. The big thing right now is helio. Same tech as in heliodisplays but it can only show one image/object and it doesn't use any power. Projects a seemingly solid object when light hits it, so entire aspects of your outfit (wings, horns, tails, halos, flaming hair) can be essentially a trick of the light. Oh, and display fabric is used in basically all clothes, has been for years. Some kinds can even become transparent in one spot, not in another. Medical applications mainly. They cannot self replicate, that proved to be far more difficult than imagined.

We do have swarmbots though, robots that range in size from a grain of rice up to a shoebox, with carriers/mothers; essneitally large robots that house and recharge them, taking them from place to place as they are needed.

Takes place in the cloud kingdom, you befriend a fallen "Roc" whose feathers were stolen by baby bowser. Each one has a different ability such as allowing you to turn to stone, shoot fire or flatten yourself and be carried by wind. During boss fights baby bowers uses the ability of whatever feather you're fighting him for, as a sort of preview of what you'll be able to do. It's set up in a nonlinear fashion, lots of backtracking as only certain feathers can bypass certain obstacles. Enemies are now styled according to the theme of their world and have specific weaknesses to specific feather abilities.

When you get all the feathers, it restores the Roc and the final boss battle has you flying on his back, battling baby bowser in some kind of flying teacup dealie. Ends with a crash into Bowsers castle and a second boss fight against Bowser. Got a 9.4 average score.
